Leftover needs a take-home amount
0% complete
0% of The whole month
Leftover is take-home minus the month. Until you type take-home, the remainder stays hidden.
The subtraction
The month is housing plus car plus debts, with the car loan omitted when you say it is already in the debt list. Leftover is the take-home you typed minus that month.
A negative leftover means the typed costs are larger than the typed take-home. The tool shows the gap and does not suggest what to remove.
Use monthly take-home
Type the pay that lands in the account, in the same monthly terms as the bills. A yearly salary typed by mistake will make leftover look enormous.
Taxes already withheld are not in this calculator. Take-home means after that withholding, if that is the money you live on.
Costs you did not type
Food, utilities, and childcare are not fields. They are still inside leftover until you account for them yourself. Leftover is not a free-spending number.
Take-home is saved with the other calculators once you are signed in.
This explains how WiseCalculator treats the numbers you type. It is not a lender’s offer and it is not advice for your loan.
More in The month
- Do not count the car loan twiceThe car form includes the loan payment. If that same payment is also a debt row, say so. The month then keeps the loan once.
- Car upkeep when the loan is already a debtUpkeep is insurance, registration, maintenance, and fuel. The loan payment stays on the debt tile.
- The PMI date on the monthWhen PMI is in the housing payment, the month names when you can ask to remove it. That is 80% of the original price.
