Four tiles, in any order
0% complete
0% of The whole month
Mortgage, car, debt, and take-home can be filled in any order. The month adds a slice only when that tile has a number.
Nothing has to come first
You can list debts before you price a house. You can price a car and leave housing blank. The month is the sum of the slices that exist.
Take-home does not add a cost. It is the income side, used only for leftover.
Empty means absent
A tile that still says add is not a zero in the sum. It is missing. Zero tax inside a mortgage you already started is different: that mortgage exists because the price exists, and the tax piece is zero.
The sample on a first visit is not one of these tiles.
The order on screen
The tiles stay in a stable layout so you can find them. The order you fill them does not change how the sum is computed.
PMI dates and payoff dates appear under the month when the matching calculator has the numbers those dates need.
This explains how WiseCalculator treats the numbers you type. It is not a lender’s offer and it is not advice for your loan.
More in The month
- Leftover needs a take-home amountLeftover is take-home minus the month. Until you type take-home, the remainder stays hidden.
- Do not count the car loan twiceThe car form includes the loan payment. If that same payment is also a debt row, say so. The month then keeps the loan once.
- Car upkeep when the loan is already a debtUpkeep is insurance, registration, maintenance, and fuel. The loan payment stays on the debt tile.
