Registration spread across the year
0% complete
0% of First car
Registration is a yearly amount divided by twelve. It is an ownership cost, not part of the loan.
Why it is yearly
Registration and similar once-a-year fees are typed as a year, then divided by twelve so the month is not surprised by a bill you could have averaged.
A monthly registration field would have invited a yearly number by mistake. This one is labeled as the year.
What to include
Include the registration you actually pay. Inspection fees you pay every year can be added into the same yearly number. A ticket or a one-time repair belongs in maintenance only if you want it averaged; otherwise leave it out.
The tool does not know your state fee schedule.
It stays with the car
Registration stays in the car total after you link the loan into the debt list. The loan moves. The plates do not.
Changing the loan term does not change registration. Only the yearly field does.
This explains how WiseCalculator treats the numbers you type. It is not a lender’s offer and it is not advice for your loan.
