A 72-month car loan
0% complete
This guide
Seventy-two months lowers the payment and adds a sixth year of interest. Ownership per month stays the same.
The sixth year
The yearly table gains a sixth row. That row is more interest and more time before the balance is zero. The payment is the part that looks better.
The household payoff date moves a year later than a 60-month loan on the same principal.
When it can still make sense
The comparison might show a 72-month offer costing less over a short hold if its fees are smaller, even if the full-term interest is worse. Read the hold you will actually use.
A lower payment that fits the month can be the constraint. The calculator will show the higher interest. It will not block the term.
Do not hide it in debts
Entering the 72-month payment as a debt minimum and also leaving it on the car form double-counts unless you turn on the link that treats the loan as already listed.
That link keeps ownership on the car tile and the payment on the debt tile.
This explains how WiseCalculator treats the numbers you type. It is not a lender’s offer and it is not advice for your loan.
