A personal loan beside the cards

This guide
A personal loan is another row: balance, rate, and the fixed payment. It shares the extra payment by the size of that payment.
The payment is the minimum
For an installment loan, the “minimum” is the contractual payment. Type the balance left, the rate, and that payment.
The payoff math still treats the payment as flat and the rate as a simple monthly rate. A loan with a due date you already know can be checked against the month count this produces.
It will take a large share of any extra
A personal-loan payment is often larger than a card minimum. Most of an extra amount will be assigned to the loan, because the split follows the minimums. That may not be where you wanted the extra.
To send the extra to a card instead, put the extra into that card’s minimum and leave the extra field at zero.
Do not also put it on the car form
An auto loan typed here and also priced in the car calculator will be double-counted unless you tell the month that the car loan is already in debts.
A personal loan that is not the car has no twin. One row is enough.
This explains how WiseCalculator treats the numbers you type. It is not a lender’s offer and it is not advice for your loan.
More in Debt
- Medical debt in the same listA medical bill is a row with a balance, a rate, and what you pay each month. A zero rate is allowed.
- A student loan as one rowEach loan you want in the month needs its own balance, rate, and payment. Income-driven plans that change the payment are not modeled.
- Naming a debt so the date is readableThe household month prints each debt’s name next to its payoff. Specific names keep those lines distinct.
