This guide
WiseCalculator opens on the monthly picture. A home or a car is how you start. The form sits beside that picture on a wide screen.
What you see first
The bar says the tool is entirely free. Under it, a first visit offers a home or a car and shows a labeled sample of a housing payment. Debt and take-home are tiles you can open when you want them.
The sample is marked as a sample. It is not saved as your mortgage.
After you type
A home price, a car price, or a debt balance replaces the empty tile with an amount. The title of the page becomes that month. Each filled tile shows its dollars.
Opening a calculator does not invent those amounts. You type them.
Wide screen and phone
On a wide screen the open calculator stays to the right and the month stays on the left. On a phone the form follows the month, and the page scrolls to the form.
The guides live on their own pages. The calculator link at the bottom of a guide returns here and opens that form.
This explains how WiseCalculator treats the numbers you type. It is not a lender’s offer and it is not advice for your loan.
More in The month
- Four tiles, in any orderMortgage, car, debt, and take-home can be filled in any order. The month adds a slice only when that tile has a number.
- Leftover needs a take-home amountLeftover is take-home minus the month. Until you type take-home, the remainder stays hidden.
- Do not count the car loan twiceThe car form includes the loan payment. If that same payment is also a debt row, say so. The month then keeps the loan once.
